Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TypeTestLab.com and related subdomains ("TypeTestLab", "we", "us", or "our"). By visiting our website, practicing on our typing modules, or generating an assessment certificate, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you are using TypeTestLab on behalf of a school, educational district, or corporate employer, you represent that you have the legal authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Permitted Use & License

TypeTestLab grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use our website strictly in accordance with these Terms for:

• Evaluating personal typing speed (WPM) and accuracy.
• Completing interactive touch-typing instructional modules.
• Playing typing educational games for fine-motor skill conditioning.
• Generating personal typing achievement certificates for resumes, job screening, and academic portfolios.

3. Prohibited Activities & Fair Play Policy

To preserve the objective integrity of our testing benchmarks and global percentile scoring, you agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited behaviors:

• Automated Botting & Scripting: You may not use automated scripts, macros, virtual key injection software, or headless browser automation to complete typing tests or artificially inflate WPM scores.
• DOM & Telemetry Tampering: You may not manipulate browser DOM elements, JavaScript console variables, or network payloads to fake test timestamps or accuracy scores.
• Certificate Forgery: You may not forge, alter, or misrepresent a TypeTestLab Certificate or its unique cryptographic verification code for fraudulent employment or academic gain.
• Platform Disruption: You may not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, launch denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, or overload our hosting infrastructure.

4. Typing Certificates & Employer Disclaimers

TypeTestLab provides automated typing certificates based on client-side browser performance assessments. While our assessments are calibrated against widely recognized professional clerical typing benchmarks:

• TypeTestLab certificates reflect unproctored online performance during the specific timed test window under browser conditions.
• TypeTestLab is an independent educational platform and does not guarantee employment, academic admission, or official certification from third-party government or corporate bodies.
• Employers and institutions are encouraged to independently verify candidate skills using our real-time testing engine.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on TypeTestLab—including text, research publications, 100+ educational guides, custom SVG illustrations, infographics, code architecture, audio effects, and branding logos—is the exclusive intellectual property of TypeTestLab and is protected by United States, United Kingdom, and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

You may quote short excerpts of our research publications provided that you provide clear, direct attribution and a do-follow hyperlink back to the original TypeTestLab source page. Bulk scraping or automated republishing of our guides is strictly prohibited.

6. Third-Party Links & Advertising

Our website displays third-party advertisements served by networks such as Google AdSense and may contain links to external third-party websites or services. TypeTestLab does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or advertisers. Interactions with advertisers found on our site are solely between you and the advertiser.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

TypeTestLab is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.

We do not warrant that our typing test will meet all your requirements, that test results will be error-free, or that defects in client hardware (such as faulty keyboard switches or Bluetooth lag) will be corrected by our software.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TypeTestLab, its founders, contributors, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including loss of employment opportunities, profits, data, or goodwill—arising from your use of or inability to use our platform or reliance on test scores.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TypeTestLab and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from your violation of these Terms or your infringement of any third-party rights.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material updates will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of TypeTestLab following any updates constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to your use of TypeTestLab shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. Any legal proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in courts of competent jurisdiction.
